Catch them young was a cliché in the eighties, nineties and the early twentieth century. The phrase witnessed projects of all sorts for young talents and intellectuals.
Master Oziomachukwu Favour Mojekwu was the fortunate child that leveraged positively on the catch them young phrase when the spotlight was on him after winning the Kids Got Talent Reality Show. Unlike the rest is history usual saying, it is the kick off point for Ozioma widely known as OzzyBee aka OzzyBosco WonderKid.
While in elementary school in Chrisland Schools, Ozioma won the best Art student award back–to–back for five academic sessions. In spite of the numerous accolades received, about one hundred and sixty eight and still counting, he has remained focused.
Imbibing the philanthropic spirit, OzzyBee has taken 14 children (including orphans) on a one week all-expense-paid holiday to Tinapa, Calabar and was joyfully received by Barrister Efiok Cobham, the former deputy Governor, Cross River State. He started #StopChildCruelty, his pet project through Smile Again Foundation—his NGO focused on putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged Nigerian children.
#StopChildCruelty was a slow starter when it was officially unveiled on Father’s day in 2016. It became news headline when OzzyBee and his team via Smile Again Foundation visited Sodiq, the kid victim of ritualists in Zaria. Like Hip TV slogan, a break from the norm, I say kudos for Ozzy’s unique initiative.
His newest single, Shake It, which featured Mr. Real, the legbegbe master is enjoying airplay alongside massive online download across music websites. Other songs includes: Charlie Dance which featured two of Nigeria’s finest rappers Vector and Rugged Man, Super Star featuring Lamboginny, Smile Again, You Reign featuring Dr. Tee Mac and Mid Night Crew, Tinini featuring Olamide amongst others.
He is currently, an NDLEA Ambassador, UNESCO Child Advocate Ambassador and ex-LAWMA Ambassador. Ozzy is a lover of knowledge spiced with socializing that led to starting the “OzzyBee Fan Club” (OFC) to cater for the educational and social needs of the African children between the ages of 5-15 years. Although, some may call it a rumor that Ozzy Bee can’t sing. Others may say it is a distracting statement or comment (Ozzy Bee smiles are not real) as Ozzy Bee is not only the artiste that is as guilty as charge. The truth remains that few of the big names in music today, locally and internationally, are guilty as charge in the use of auto tune, the musical software that gives flawless texture to an artiste voice as well as put out fake smiles.
He is a growing youngster with plenty of room for improvement once he remains a teachable student promising himself to get a voice coach / trainer, choreographer and songwriter to help if he chooses to write his songs.
